Special container mainly refers to those containers loaded with special cargos. Mainly includes:REEFER CONTAINER、DRESS HANGER CONTAINER、OPEN TOP CONTAINER、FLAT RACK CONTAINER、TANK CONTAINER.At present, our company's main business scope is reefer container and open top container.
冷藏集装箱（REEFER CONTAINER，RF）
Reefer container, mainly for transportation of frozen foods, is insulated container which could remain in designated low temperature. It's specifically designed for transportation of fish and shrimp, meat, fresh fruit and vegetable. At present, reefer containers globally used are basically two types: one is that the container has freezer and is called mechanical reefer container; another is that the container does not have freezer but insulated equipment, side wall of the container has air inlets and outlets. After the container is installed in the cabin, the ship's refrigeration equipment will supply air-conditioning. This is called clutch type reefer container (also called external type reefer container).
开顶集装箱（OPEN-TOP CONTAINER，OT）
The characteristic of this container is that the top could be easily to take down and put up. The top has two types: hard top & soft top. Hard top is made by thin steel plate and lifting machinery is used for loading/unloading. Soft top is usually made by canvas, plastic cloth and plastic coated cloth. When opening the top, just need to roll to one end. This type of container is applicable for loading large-scale cargos and heavy cargos, such as steel, wood and machinery, especially fragile heavy cargos like glass plate. Using crane to put cargos into the container from the top is easy to fix cargos in the container and cargos will not be easy to break.
The quotation of special container requests us to accurately understand the carrier capability of shipping market, pricing method of shipping company, market price and cargo parameters of clients (preferably with photos), shipping time and delivery period, to fully estimate operation difficulty and account the costs to be incurred. The characteristic of operating special container: the number of special container carrier is low, the market demand is small; operation difficulty is high, the links are complicated, the whole transportation process needs many links to be confirmed before acceptance. Mainly need to confirm cargo container, seats and price. The differences of price are large and could not be compared. Many shipping companies do not provide special container service. Relatively speaking, the value of cargos transported by special container is much higher.
Notes for special container operation
Reefer Container：setup requirements of container, whether need pre-cooling or not, whether need to conduct CWI, air vent opening degree, temperature, time for container picking, free use period of container, free terminal storage period.
Open Top Container：confirm in advance about cargo weight, size, loading/unloading requirement and cargo owner's requirement to container body.
